The first edition of China International Import Expo came with much hype early November 2018. It has attracted around 150 000 trade visitors and 3 600 of the biggest companies across the globe. Few pet industry players were present though, except for a few brands displayed in their distributors’ stands. Among them, K9 Natural from New Zealand, Renske Natural Petfood or the product lines from H. von Gimborn.
Making a major move in the country, H. von Gimborn was represented by three brands: GimCat, GimDog and Biokat’s. 5Ctong, the new importer of von Gimborn into Chinese market, displayed numerous of its imported brands in a giant stand.
While Chinese media representatives looked on, Gimborn Group CEO Michael Baumgärtner signed the contract to enter into a long-term strategic partnership with 5Ctong. “As one of the fastest-growing markets worldwide for pet food and cat litter, China plays a very important role for the Gimborn Group in international business,” said Baumgärtner.
During the fair, the company participated in various meetings with the German and Chinese governments.
